Okay…I know what you are thinking. Black beans have NO PLACE in the world of decadent and sinful desserts. But I promise you, these vegan black bean dessert brownies taste so much like regular brownies that my friends and family couldn’t tell the difference. If anything, they are MORE chocolaty and MORE fudgy than regular boxed brownie mix! Ohh, and the best part? They are healthy brownies, so you can eat the ENTIRE batch with NO GUILT!

What Does This Black Bean Dessert Recipe Taste like?
To say that they taste similar to brownie batch mix is and understatement. I was quite literally eating the brownie batter off of my mixing spoon and could not tell the difference, other than a slightly coarser texture. They are very chocolaty, fudgy and moist, and hold their shape well. I actually really enjoy them chilled in the fridge! For some reason, I feel like this makes them EXTRA indulgent and fudgy!
They are not only vegan, but this is an eggless brownie recipe as well (obviously). And instead of using all purpose flour, the recipe calls for almond meal flour! This gives them a slightly coarser texture than regular brownies, but most people won’t be able to tell the difference.

How To Make This Canned Bean Recipe:
So this recipe is actually SUPER easy to make you guys! In my opinion, a food processor works a little better at grinding and combining ingredients for this recipe, but if you only have a blender you can use this as well.
- In a food processor, process the entire cup of rolled oats until a fine powder is made. Empty out into a separate bowl.
- In the empty food processor, process the 2 cans of rinsed black beans, baking powder, honey, coconut oil and vanilla extract.
- Once a paste is formed, add the instant coffee, salt and cocoa powder. Process until smooth and fully combined.
- Now pour your bean mixture over the processed oats, and add 1/2 of a cup of almond flour. Add your chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle over the top, and mix to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9″ by 9″ baking dish and use a spatula to make sure the top is even and flat. Sprinkle with as many chocolate chips as your heart desires!
- Bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for 18-20 minutes, remove and let cool at least 15 minutes before cutting. You can serve them warm, but I personally enjoy how firm and fudgy they get once refrigerated!
