In this feta baked pita chips recipe, tangy feta cheese is mixed with creamy Greek yogurt and aromatics before being spread on pita bread and briefly baked. The sauce can be made ahead of time, and it only takes 10 minutes to bake, making it a great healthy appetizer or snack. Get ready, because everyone is going to want your baked feta pita chips!

Why Make This Baked Pita Chips Recipe:

Well, for one, it is super quick to make! Once you mix all of the ingredients together, you spread it on pita bread and bake it for 10-12 minutes. In this time the bread gets nice and golden and crispy, while the feta and Greek yogurt get bubbly and creamy.

This baked feta appetizer can also be enjoyed as a healthy snack! Mix the ingredients ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to two days until you are ready to spread it on the pita bread!

It’s simple, light and delectable!

Ingredient Substitutions and Additions:

My recipe calls for fresh garlic, and trust me, IT IS GARLICY. I understand that not everyone is a fan of garlic, so if you would like to omit it, that is totally fine. Here are some more ingredients that you can play around with adding or substituting!

Don’t be afraid to let your free-spirit experiment with this one, and as always, make sure to let me know how it was in the comments section of this page!

BasilI think fresh basil is perfect with the feta and goat cheese. But if basil isn’t your thing, try substituting it for fresh chopped parsley, cilantro or mint!
GarlicGarlic is a strong flavor, and it is definitely strong in this recipe. If you don’t want to scare anyone with your vampire breath, try substituting it for a tbsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice. This will have the same ‘strong flavor’ effect without the lingering smell.
FetaFeta is a star ingredient in this recipe, but you can always substitute it for another crumbly cheese like blue cheese or Gorgonzola! And I bet goat cheese would taste AMAZING in this recipe, just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Other IngredientsYou know what would also be great on this Mediterranean diet snack? Chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and/or scallions!
