Conventional Oven
A conventional oven has two heating elements that essentially heat the air inside the oven to cook the food. The air gets hot to bake whatever goes into the oven, while the heating element at the top of the regular oven is used to broil the food closest to it.
Toaster Oven
A toaster oven uses radiant heat, the same way that the average toaster does. Basically, the system works by changing electrical energy into heat energy through the use of wires and nickel/chromium metal alloys.
Air Frying Oven
Traditional air fryers have a heating mechanism and a powerful fan. You place the food in a crisper tray, and when you turn it on, hot air rushes down and around the food. The rapid circulation of superheated air makes the food crispy—similar to deep-frying, but without the oil. The heating elements are usually found at the top of the air fryer.
The Various Cooking Functions Of The PowerXL Air Fryer Grill Function
In comparison to other large capacity air fryer grills, the PowerXL came out with an extra-versatile indoor grill that can not only grill your food, but can also air fry it! Let’s dive into the features.
Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets Recipe
These crispy and perfectly cooked chicken cutlets are so easy to make and are a great way to switch up dinner! The air fryer uses little to no oil, making this a much healthier fried chicken option when you are craving it, but don’t want all of that saturated fat! Air fryer chicken cutlets are …
What Foods Can It Cook?
It will depend on the cubic inches and type of PowerXL air fryer you get, but there are a very wide variety of foods that you can cook in their air fryer! Let’s go over the foods you can cook in the air fryer grill and in their regular air fryer.
Frequently Asked Questions
While nothing liquid should ever go into an air fryer, the air fryer grill has the ability to heat up soups if stored in the proper container.
Preheating the air fryer grill for a few minutes will help your food get crispier, if that is your desire. If you are cooking from a cold start, add 3 minutes to the cooking time to compensate.
No, the entire device is not dishwasher safe due to the electronics and heating elements. Only the drip tray and removable accessories are dishwasher safe, but check your specific model’s manual for more precise cleaning instructions.
Generally speaking, air frying is healthier than frying in oil. It cuts calories by 70% to 80% and has less fat. This cooking method might also cut down on some of the other harmful effects of oil frying.
Of course, this is subjective. But in my personal opinion, air fryer food tastes slightly different due to the lack of oil used. Oil changes the flavor of our food slightly, so when it is not used, you are left with a more authentic flavor. And the crispiness is a huge bonus when it comes to texture.
Air Fryer Samosas With Sweet Potato And Pork
Evenly crispy on the outside, with Indian spiced sweet potato and meat on the inside, these air fryer samosas with sweet potato and pork are irresistible! What Are The Cons?
-
We have spent so much time going over the air fryer itself, now lets go over some of the drawbacks. There are some PowerXL Air Fryer reviews that report the air fryer not working, or breaking quickly after they received it. This was not my experience, but we all know things like this can happen.
They have a good customer service center, and even offer a 90-day money-back guarantee. And if you purchase it directly from Tristar Products, Inc. via phone or online at the PowerXL products website, you will also get a 1-year VIP protection plan that will replace your PowerXL with a brand-new unit absolutely free.
- Some people report the machine to be a little too noisy. I personally had no problem with the noise, but if this is something that would bother you, it may not be the best option for you.
- My only complaint is that when I cook, I cook a lot of food for family members. You are slightly limited on the quantity of food that you can cook, because depending on what you are cooking, it may need to be positioned in the air fryer grill in a certain way. In those cases, you may need to cook in batches, which kind of takes away the purpose of ‘quick cooking’.
My Personal Opinion On The PowerXL Air Fryer Grill
As I mentioned earlier in this post, this is not sponsored. So this is my honest and true opinion on this small kitchen appliance.
PowerXL Air Fryer Review:
The larger sized PowerXL air fryers are fantastic if you like to cook larger quantities of food, or cook for a family. I have used the 6 quart Instant Pot air fryer lid , and the crisper bucket is way too small for the quantities I cook. The sides of your food get stuck to the outer sides of the bucket, and you can really only fit two small chicken breasts inside.
The 7 quart and 8 quart PowerXL air fryers fit a lot more food in comparison, and are very simple to use.
They have about 9 different air fryers with different functions, so I encourage you to check them all out for yourself and decide which one best suits your lifestyle and wants.
But in my opinion, the PowerXL Microwave Air Fryer Plus is a fantastic option if you are ready for a new microwave oven, and also want the option to air fry. This way you don’t have to add another kitchen appliance to your counter tops since the air fryer is built in to the microwave!
PowerXL Air Fryer Grill Review
Similar to the PowerXL Microwave Air Fryer Plus, the Power XL Air Fryer Grill is a great kitchen appliance to purchase if you want the versatility of cooking with a variety of different methods without having to own multiple appliances.
It doesn’t take up too much space on the counter, and the removable drip tray and other accessories are very easy to clean.
It does get VERY hot to the touch, so I recommend keeping it away from little hands, and also keeping it away from anything flammable.
As for how it cooks, I find that everything I have cooked in it has come out fantastic. The foods I want crispy come out crispy, and the foods I want with grill marks come out with grill marks. It also has a great recipe book that you can reference for ideas!
My biggest complaint would have to be the size, since I tend to cook large quantities of food at a time.
But the fact that you can also bake in it is a huge plus for anyone that likes to bake!
Is It Worth The Money?
So to wrap it up, I think that the PowerXL Air Fryer is DEFINITELY worth the money. It’s a great option for anyone with limited counter space that wants the luxury of being able to air fry, grill and bake all in one device.
