There has been a viral Boursin cheese pasta recipe on TikTok that has been blowing up the internet for years, and for good reason. It is insanely easy to make and so delicious! In my own version of this pasta with Boursin cheese recipe I omit the heavy cream and add extra veggies to make it a little healthier. It’s quick, easy, and seriously tasty!

Why You Will Love This Recipe

The idea for this recipe was originally shared by digital creator Sheila Williams—also known as @shewillevolve.

  • It’s EASY – When I say easy, I mean EASY. You basically place the cheese in a baking dish, surround it with some veggies, and bake it. Toss it with some pasta and you’ve got dinner!

  • It’s REALLY delicious – I was slightly skeptical at first…I mean how good could it be if it’s just a plain melted cheese sauce? When I tell you that I was blown away by how incredible this tasted, I’m not exaggerating.

  • I’ve made the original recipe BETTER – In my humble opinion, this recipe needed a little more spunk, so I made some tweaks that I think really pull the idea all together into one cohesive dinner recipe.

  • It’s versatile – You can swap out the type of pasta used, the veggies, and even add spices to accommodate your own preferences. The Boursin cheese sauce for pasta is pretty much good on anything!

Is This Recipe Mediterranean Diet Friendly?

It sure is! Pasta can definitely be enjoyed while following the Mediterranean diet, as long as it is in moderation. I wrote this recipe to only use two cups of uncooked pasta for 4 people, so you will be more likely to fill up on veggies before you fill up on pasta. I also add a lot of fresh herbs to this recipe to make it more Mediterranean!

You want produce to be close to half of your plate at each meal, and this recipe accomplishes that. Cheese is also allowed on the Mediterranean diet, though typically in moderation—just a few ounces per week. This recipe, however, includes a substantial amount of cheese all at once. It’s fine to enjoy this pasta with Boursin cheese recipe occasionally, as long as you’re mindful of your overall cheese intake for the week.

How To Make Boursin Cheese Pasta

As I mentioned earlier, it really doesn’t get much easier than this! Feel free to use whatever kind of pasta that you want, and make sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the full list of ingredients and instructions.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Start by bringing a large stockpot filled with salted water to a boil. Cook your pasta according to package instructions. Prior to straining, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water.

  2. Add the two Boursin cheeses to a 9″ by 13″ baking dish and surround them with the cherry tomatoes, broccoli florets, and chopped onion. Toss in your minced garlic, salt, and pepper.

  3. Drizzle the vegetables with olive oil, then transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 35 minutes until the vegetables are cooked through and the cheese is extra soft.

  4. When done, add about 1 tbsp of reserved pasta water to the baking dish and mix everything up. Add more pasta water as you feel is needed (I do not add any more). Toss in the cooked pasta, and top with chopped fresh parsley and basil.

How To Store Leftovers

If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, microwave for 60 seconds, stir, and microwave in 30-second intervals until heated through. You may need to add a splash of water or broth to bring it back to life.

Tips For Success

  • Garlic & Herb Boursin – Boursin cheese has a lot of different flavors to choose from. I really enjoy the garlic and herb variety since we use both fresh garlic and herbs in this recipe. But feel free to try out a different flavor and let me know how you like it!

  • Cut The Broccoli Florets Small – In order to have everything cook at the same time, make sure that the broccoli florets are small. Use my photos above for reference, but if you feel like one is too big, just rip in half with your hands. That’s what I do!

  • Save Some Pasta Water! – This is a step that I always forget to do, but it’s important because it contains starch that helps create a creamy sauce when mixed with the cheese.

  • Feel Free To Add A Protein – Each serving is only about 10 grams of protein, so feel free to add your favorite protein such as chicken, beans, or shrimp!
