As the cool spring nights begin getting replaced with steamy humid ones, our palates for wine begin to change as relaxation, sandy toes, and lots of sunshine set in. Die hard red fans can be seen sipping frosty cabernets on their back porches. All wine lovers start their night cap just as the sun begins to set around 7pm. And millennial are still drinking their White Claws! (lol!) We start adding new flavors to our wines, such as lemon and honey. And our inner mixologist comes out to play as we pour our wines over seltzers, herbs and muddled berries.
Summer is exceptional, and so is this list of the best summer wines of 2020! And if you are pinching pandemic pennies like many of us are, you have no need to fret, because all of these wines are under $20! So take a seat on your porch, bend an elbow and lets toast to an optimistic and ever improving future!

The Best Summer Wines of 2020:
Vanderpump Rosé: This peachy rosé from the queen of Bravo herself, Lisa Vanderpump, is one of our favorites. Despite its medium dark complexion, this rosé is extremely light and wet, yet lacks that sweet/sour taste that many dark rosé’s render. This is the PERFECT rosé for your next beach day!
RATING: 8 Percent: 13%
Price: $17.00 Year: 2018
19 Crimes Rosé: This salmon colored rosé is fruity, flavorful and strong. If you are looking for a rosé to drink with a hearty meal, this is the rosé for you. With strawberry and red cherry notes, 19 Crimes rosé is lively and full of pizzazz!
RATING: 8 Percent: 13%
Price: $10.00 Year: 2019
This Vinturi set of Essential Red and White Wine Aerators is perfect for all wine lovers. When you choose to aerate wine, the reaction between gases in the air and the wine changes the flavor of the wine, making it more enjoyable.
Fontanafredda Gavi di Gavi: Gavi di Gavi is an ‘oaky’ medium bodied white wine that presents with hints of lemon and dried apples. A very elegant wine, Gavi Gavi is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day, or for serving with a light meal for a well balanced gastronomic pairing.
RATING: 7.5 Percent: 12.5%
Price: $20.00 Year: 2018
Try serving Gavi di Gavi with my ‘Chicken And Fruit Couscous Salad!’
Bread and Butter Chardonnay: This chardonnay is a thick and heavy, with a sweet dessert finish. If vanilla pudding was a wine, it would be Bread and Butter Chardonnay! Recommended for those who love dessert wines and are not looking to have more than 2 glasses. Serve with a carbonara or creamy citrus chicken!
RATING: 5.6 Percent: 13.5%
Price: $16.00 Year: 2018

Summer Water: Summer water is a light, slightly alcoholically rosé that tingles the taste buds. I would call this rosé more of a state of mind than a go to rosé, but it does offer nice dry hints of watermelon and is low in sulfer and sugar. You know what that means: NO HANGOVER! This characteristic also makes it great for a beach day.
RATING: 4.9 Percent: 12.5%
Price: $15.00 Year: 2018
Member’s Mark Riesling: For a Sams Club wine, this Riesling is surprisingly perfect! Rieslings are known for their sweet dessert wine flavoring, but Members Mark riesling has mastered the drinkable candied wine to a T. Sip this after dinner to satisfy your sweet tooth craving, or enjoy a glass mid afternoon with apples, berries and cheese!
RATING: 5.8 Percent: 9.5%
Price: $12.00 Year: 2018
How awesome is this ‘Ocean Theme Wood Cheese Board’?!
Zaca Mesa Z Blanc: This Rhone style white depicts hints of ripe apricot and robust honey. It has a strong, distinguished flavor, but is light enough to sip on a hot summer day. This is your go-to ‘serve with fish’ wine. This gentle white won’t overpower the delicate fish, yet the earthy and fruity hints will elevate the flavor of most salmon, cod and shellfish dishes.
RATING: 6.7 Percent: 14.5%
Price: $16.00 Year: 2013
Try serving Gavi Gavi with my ‘Roasted Cod With Lemon Garlic Cauliflower Rice‘ recipe!
Our Daily Red Organic Red Blend: Light and fruit forward, this red blend presents with hints of black raspberry and blueberry. Since the grapes are grown without artificial chemicals or pesticides, Our Daily Red doesn’t leave that thick coating in your mouth like many red wines do. If you like chilled red wine in the summer, this wine cools gracefully.
RATING: 7.1 Percent: 12.5%
Price: $10.00 Year: 2018
*Red wine in moderation, provides your body with antioxidants, polyphenols, resveratrol, flavonoids and tannins, which have been linked to a decrease in LDL cholesterol and promote a healthy heart. (1) So drinking organic red wine is something that is very important to me.
