Spaghetti Seasoning

This simple recipe comes together quickly and helps to enhance the flavors of spaghetti sauce. Add a tablespoon at a time to pasta sauces to enhance their flavor. It also makes a great dry rub for chicken!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes more or less depending on your tastre
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley

Instructions
 

  • In a mortar, combine the dried rosemary, black pepper, dried oregano, dried parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Using a pestle, grind the spice mixture until the rosemary is finely ground, or ground to your liking.
  • Add 1 tbsp at a time to spaghetti sauce, taste, and add more according to your liking. You will also want to taste your sauce for salt, as this recipe purposefully omits salt. You can use the mixture right away, or store it in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
  • *To really enhance the flavor of the sauce, try adding some minced garlic and fresh sliced basil!
